New Big Brother spin-off announced
There’s some good news for those of us still weeping into our Coco Pops about the temporary axing of Celebrity Big Brother. The normal show’s going to be given a special celeb spin-off, called Big Brother's Celebrity Hijack.
Cool title, eh? But how does it work? Like this: basically, we’ll get the usual array of nutcase housemates (producers are apparently keeping an eye out for “extremely talented, but ordinary” people – yeah, whatever), but the new programme will feature celebrities doing the voice of Big Brother and controlling the show, a bit like Jonty did during the last week of BB8. Ah, Jonty – don’t you miss him already?
Ahem. Anyway. “Stars will help set tasks, make their own rules, and help cause havoc,” said a spokesman. “We're hoping some big names will commit to it."
According to Channel 4, the new format will be a great chance to involve celebrities who wouldn’t normally be able to commit to several weeks on Celebrity Big Brother due to busy work timetables or laziness. Or the possibility of international ignominy, we might add.
